Baked Ziti

Baked Ziti

Published March 22, 2026

Baked ziti is a classic Italian-American comfort dish of tender pasta layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and bubbling melted cheese. It is the ultimate crowd-pleasing casserole, perfect for family dinners and potlucks alike.

For a vegetarian version, omit the ground beef and add sautéed mushrooms, zucchini, or spinach to the sauce instead. You can assemble the entire dish up to 24 hours in advance, cover, and refrigerate. Add 10 minutes to the covered baking time if going straight from the refrigerator to the oven.
